Vitebsk State Medical University Belarus (VSMU Belarus) is one of the largest and most distinguished medical establishments of higher education in Belarus, with more than 7200 students from 43 countries. Vitebsk State Medical Institute was established as a hospital-medical institute on November 1, 1934, by Resolution of the Council of People’s Commissars of the BSSR. The total number of students in all courses was 250. It is one of the recognized universities to pursue an MBBS in Belarus.
